From the new flat

Here I am sitting in my new sitting room, overlooking Murrayfield stadium, surveying one of our TWO balconies where two rather randy pigeons are getting quite cosy! Sadly this sort of tranquility in my life never lasts long. I'd never really complain about the pace of life that I set myself, but reflecting now I do wonder how I manage to fit so much in! In the last three days I have had lunch with a Greek girl called Penelope, seen Brian O'Driscoll playing rugby, had tea with my cousin Matthew, been for a massage, gone shopping, done some housework, played with a pygmy hedgehog and a skunk named Peanut, dined with an MP and friends, played the organ at a church service, and met a school friend from long long ago! My life is never dull! While I'm taking the opportunity to sit down and have a cuppa just now, I'm really taking a liberty doing this, having not yet packed for a two-week trip to Cardiff - I'm off on the campaign trail. I'm heading south to win the Council elections for Cardiff LibDems - a stomping ground I'm quite well acquainted with. I'm hoping to make a few social visits while I'm down there. Unsurprisingly I'm also fitting in a rugby match, The Ospreys vs Edinburgh - who'd miss the opportunity to see James Hook?!!!

A few weeks ago me and my flatmate Fiona managed to squeeze in a wee flat-warming. Lots of friends came round, some taking the 'Daytime TV' theme more seriously than others! I'm sure we'll manage a few more parties over the coming months(... I'm finding myself dreaming more and more frequently about Eurovision).

Shamelessly, I'm now going to ask you all very nicely if you'd maybe visit a website: www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/beverleyhope So I'm doing a wee 5k run for Cancer Research and it'd be wonderful you'd all sponsor me. I'm running on 1st June. Thank you to the friends who've sponsored me thus far, it's really appreciated.
